The César E. Chávez Institute operates its own 4000 square foot off-campus research facility. Occupying almost an entire floor of an office building on the corner of 16th and Mission Streets in San Francisco’s Mission District, CCI is a fully functional research center with offices for its ten staff persons as well as fellows and interns. In addition to offices, the Center has comfortable meeting room which can also function as a focus group facility, and two individual interview rooms for conducting both face-to-face qualitative and quantitative interviews of study participants and self-administered computer-assisted interviews. Unlike most offices, our Center’s interiors are painted with rich, warm colors and comfortably furnished so as to make staff, study participants and visitors alike feel welcomed and at home.
Located in the heart of San Francisco’s heavily Latino and working class barrio de la Misión, with many important community service organizations as close neighbors, our center strives to serve as the vital contact point between academia, research, and some of our City’s most disenfranchised communities.
